    Avant Stand By Light

Upon turning our Avant off, after about 10 seconds, the stand by light begins flashing and continues flashing. Any ideas on the cause of this?

    Thanks!

One of our Avant's did this  but I couldn't see why, though it was after we'd used the AV connections for a playstation console.  I checked all inputs and outputs which were OK so I just unplugged it and left it for a short while.  Plugged it in again and it's been perfect since.  Can't be any more help than that I'm afraid.

    Re: Avant Stand By Light

I seem to remember a thread on this before.
If it's a VCR model, could it mean there is no tape in?

Our Avant is a US version, no DVD or VHS. I unplugged it last night and plugged back in this morning. It seems to be back to normal now.

Good to hear it's back to normal.  I think ours had the problem after one of the many power cuts or surges that we regularly get in France.  Maybe cutting the power and then starting again 're-boots' the system.  Interesting that the video being left in the 'post box' recreates the effect.  We have many problems because of power outs - all clocks, timers, telephones to reset etc. etc.  It makes life a little more of a challenge on a weekly basis.
