When I first got my BL5 I too was a little bit disappointed. But I previously had a separate Subwoofer. When I changed the settings in the setup menu to "off" in the subwoofer question, they came to life!

I have the same problem with my Sony Bluray player. Funny thing is that I have both HDMI cable and analog cables (because of the link rooms). CDs works fine in all link rooms, but not in the living room. I have tried many alternatives in the setup menu, both in the 10-40 and the BDP, but still no sound from my speakers in the living room.

And the last one for now. After more than a year with the BV10 replacing the Avant DVD in the livingroom, I am very happy with it. The picture is great, the sound is great, and the looks is in my opinion stunning. I still haven´t solved the Bluray link problem. I promised someone some more pictures. I couldn´t find any of the BV10, but I´m sure I took some pictures of it... Anyway, a couple of new pictures:

The 28" is smaller than the 32". Therefore also sharper picture. Can it be that simple?

I have a Pioneer LX52. Fantastic picture quality and controllable with beo4. However it does not distribute both digital (HDMI) and analog signals so you can't see your DVDs in the link rooms. I haven't noticed this on mine.

I love mine. Had it 4 months now, and haven't regret it for a single day. My old Avant is very happy as a standalone TV in the basement.
