  • Re: BM-link or Linkplayer + Beo4?

I use BM-Link running on Lion. It works fine. I tried Linkplayer awhile ago and it was overkill for what I wanted to do, which was just listen to iTunes music. If I want to change anything that I can't do with the Beo4 then I use the iPhone/iPad remote app from Apple to change things. 99% of the time I'll pick a song and hit "genius"

  • Re: Delay when activating Mac based music

Necrothread! Back from the dead to eat your brains! *cough* So I have an update. I upgraded the RAM in my mini (it's pretty old and had 1gb ram) to 3gb and upgraded the HD from 80gb to 320gb (so I could put my iTunes music on there instead of on the seperate HD I had it on) and now it's instant. Reactions to any button press is instantaneous

  • Re: Delay when activating Mac based music

Oh wow. I don't have that problem. That doesn't sound good at all. If my drives are spinning then all of my connections are immediate or near immediate. My issue is waiting for the drives to spin up first thing in the morning when I want to listen to N.Music.

  • Re: Delay when activating Mac based music

Ahhhh we're both hearing the same thing. The delay I'm talking about is possibly 10 or 12 seconds.

I should add my chain is BS4, beoport, MacMini running Beolink. Even in a link room the reaction is immediate. It's just the initial startup that takes so long.

  • Re: Delay when activating Mac based music

Nah, I don't think so because if you hit forward or back or stop and then go, the reaction is immediate. Also, if my hard drives are already spinning because of EyeTV or something, there's no delay.

  • Delay when activating Mac based music

I already know the answer which is "the hard drive has to spin up." The question, however, is: what do you do about it? Do you have the music on a drive that never spins down? On SSD? Just live with the spin up delay? Never noticed it? Me, personally, it drives me nuts. I'm considering putting the music on a seperate drive that never spins

  • Re: Voltage and moving and replacing power supplies

Hiya, I already moved once from Munich (I use to go to the guy near Marienplz, he was great) to Australia and there was no problem with the shipping. The only useful box I had was the one for the BL6000. Everything else I just bubble wrapped and hoped for the best and it was fine. The power wasn't a big deal since it's also 220 here. Actually

  • Voltage and moving and replacing power supplies

Hiya, I may move from Australia to the US and was wondering if it's possible to replace the power supplies in my equipment or if it would be better to sell it all here and rebuy it over there? Anyone else ever had to deal with this?
