• Re: Beocord 5500 starts and stops

In some Beocord 5500 (and 6500, 7000) tape mechanisms there is a small belt running a tape-movement sensor. If the belt is missing there won't be any indication of tape movement to the electronics and the deck will stop. However I would have thought the deck should try reversing the tape head and playing the other side, rather than going to stop

  • Re: Beomaster 3500 lid

On Beomaster 3500/4500 the grey/mirrored panel doesn't open. All audio controls are electronic and used with either remote or from the touch sensitive buttons on the glass panel. The Beocord and Beogram CD 3500/4500 have openable lids (motorized) with a touch-sensitive button marked "Load" on the glass panel. The similarily shaped Beomaster

  • Beolab 3500 Master Control Link cable

Hello. I have been offered a BL3500 link speaker. In addition to the Masterlink socket it has a 8-pin DIN -socket (which everyone confuses for a Powerlink socket, which it isn't) for Master Control Link (MCL). The sets to which I am planning to connect the speaker don't have a Masterlink connection so I am interested in the MCL connection. I

  • Re: A find at the skip

I can see where this leads: now you have to check every BM1900-2 you ever come across, and check if it matches with the serial number on the box. Then, after you have found it, you will buy it, for whatever cost. Then you'll buy correct packaging materials, restore the box, and voila: you have a nice BM1900-2 in original box! Right?

  • Re: BeoSystem 5000

Without the jumpers there should be no sound at all from the speaker outputs (and from the headphone output as that's just a copy of the speaker output with a limiting resistors). Without the jumpers (line ins not connected) the output amp is not getting anything in, but perhaps in about max. volume the crosstalk is enough for some sound to make

  • Re: BeoSystem 5000

I think I got it. You mention connecting your CD-player to the RCA line in jacks. The problem is that those connectors are NOT meant to be used that way! Between the "line in" and "line out" RCA sockets should be two metallic forks connecting them (ie. left line out -> left line in), like this . The "line out" RCAs are

  • Re: I went to 1991 to do some shopping
It is so pretty, I had never seen any of the 4500 components in person before and I'm quite tempted to start collecting a set - but for now, the Beocord will go back to the safety of its comfy box, I'm not going to be the one to make the first scratch...
The 4500 series is very pretty! The mirror finish
