I am surprised that people in this thread appear to be using bv7 with no speakers other than a bl7-4 or bl10. It's no surprise that each of these people seem unimpressed with the sound, when these are purpose built, mono, centre speakers, designed for recreating the vocal in a multi speaker setup. I feel sorry for B&O, they design a TV like

Is your BeoVision 8 a 40"? Which has a surround module so you just plug the B&O speakers in and it works, or a 32". which doesn't have a surround module?

What about a DLNA app in the iPad/iPod. Mediaconnect works but there are loads you can try and find which suits your own needs best. These will allow you to control the bs5 and browse the library and so select albums, tracks etc, pause, play and control volume. Total cost if you go for an expensive app will be about £2.99.
What I do not understand is: why was B&O unable to deliver a Beosound 8 with Airplay capabilty the moment the Beolit 12 came out!!? To me, that's VERY frustrating, because I would much rather get the Beosound 8, however, I do now want to sacrifice on Airplay possiblities. Yes, I do know about the Airport Express

Fair enough, I am not aware of an elegant and reliable way to distribute the hd signal from one, or downgrade it to sd. If you have cat 5 (or even spare coax, but the adapters are very expensive) you could split the hdmi at the apple tv and send it over that. If its just a music solution you are looking for with control from link rooms then the B&O

I am not trying to be awkward, but the only reason I can think of a single shared apple rv being better is if you wanted to rent a movie and the finish watching in another room, and I can't imagine anyone really does that very often. For everything else another apple tv in the other room wins, including cost and ease of use.

You need to downscale to sd, and connect to the master tv as well as hd, in the same way as your sky box is (the tv deals with the DVD internally since its a source from the factory. It's cheaper to but another apple tv, and also give you more flexibility in your setup.

Of course it doesn't sound as good as a BeoSound 8, what were you guys expecting?
Also had a side by side comparison to BS8. In my ears BS8 has much more complete sound stage. Just my opinion though.
I am confused. Were you expecting the smaller, portable and cheaper BeoLit to match the bigger, fixed and more expensive BeoSound 8 sound wise?

Is the stb connected directly to the bc6, or are you watching sources connected to the 7-40 via the rf link? If you are watching in a link room then the picture is downscaled and sent over rf. you will see no difference between ad and hd channels. If you have a D tuner connected locally to the 6-26, then you need to make sure it's connected via
