I think the theory of the OP is becoming a little lost. The idea was to run his MC35's directly from an iPod dock by replacing them as the original speakers without having to utilise a B&O amp. The first answer was correct - not likely to work very well. Chris.

Hi Donald. It sounds as though the suspension has hardened over time which is quite common even in so called "new old stock" ones. I would send them to Axel and have the suspension renewed (I assume he can do this?) - the cantilever & stylus should be fine if they were sealed items. Or you could ask the seller to refund you. "Pleasant sound" is a very good description Martin. I had a pair in teak which I gave away to someone who bought a TV from me on ebay. Funny you should mention that - my next project (Steve at Soundsheavenly knows what I mean ) is going to be a white one. How much are they worth? - as much as someone is prepared to pay. A bit of a cop-out answer but it's the truth. As with all things B&O related cosmetic condition is 90% of the price as these are often the most expensive things

Another. Those aren't chips to the front edge - it's my camera flash.

Now finished and I'm quite pleased for a first attempt. The back has been sprayed on the "finger plate" sections with rubberised black paint. On reflection I think I should have gone for a dark grey to match the textured part of the battery cover and got some better quality masking tape for a neater edge, but hey - it's for my own
