The CDX does indeed have a very pleasant sound - it is often described as sounding analogue. I agree - slightly warm and fuzzy in some ways but very easy to listen to. I use mine with my Beolab 5000 system and it performs very well!
i tought i was finished with my collection

I think you mean the Beolab 5000 speakers. The service manual is indeed on site. Why do you think these capacitors need replacing? I might do the cross over but I would leave the amplifier alone unless there is a problem.
-
The only problem is that you need a decent wi-fi connection. Otherwise it buffers a lot. My broadband speed is scandalously slow!

My collection is now very small but I have kept the essentials - and these are two of them!
peter, i'm wondering which equipment are the essentials of your collection...
I now have: Beogram 3000 Thorens, Beolab 5000, Beomaster 5000, Beogram CDX, Beovox 5000, Beovox

There is this . What is really wanted is a DAB receiver which then transits FM on a number of channels via a co-axial cable which can then plug into your receiver. Each channel could be assigned a separate FM frequency and so your FM receiver could still be used.

To be honest, they are not that rare and Frede can replicate the front panels. The huge advantage of the earlier B&O (pre 80s) is that most is built at component level and will be able to be repaired almost indefinitely. Use the right speakers with a 5000 and it is great. The 4400 benefits from more modern circuit design and is direct coupled so

Yes. They are the same machine but the 3300 has Datalink. Obviously that will not affect the CD mechanism.

Just ran your system through the Product Configuration Guide. It suggests option 1 for both the 4500 and BV7. You would then use the AV button to get TV sound. Have you downloaded the PCG ? You enter your system and it tells you how to set it up. It only runs on Windows - just had to use Boot camp for the first time this year!!
I always adored the 6500/7000 system for its über-minimalist design and the MCP. When I bought mine aesthetics were a factor. As I was lucky to find a pair of RL140s for my Beomaster 6500 and finally replaced the Philips active speakers the BM can now live up to its full potential (though I read it's a little

Still not quite sure what you have. Can we concentrate just on the room with the TV and Beomaster in it. The link rooms are, I am sure, a red herring. What do you have connected speaker wise to the Beomaster and is there any speaker at all attached to the BV7 or is it just the screen? I take it the MCL2A is in another room all together?
