I can't see Freesat flopping. The whole industry is going HD mad, and Freesat is giving people an option to jump-aboard the HD bandwagon without donating their income to Mr. Murdoch. It's taking off quicker than Freeview did, partly because the BBC and ITV have both learnt from the mistakes made with Freeview.

I doubt it, Freesat was started by the BBC and ITV as a joint venture, I can't see them getting tied up to only one manufacturer - they'd want it to be available to as many as possible.

I have a pair of Goodmans Ministers myself, but the two way versions, and use different drivers. Goodmans produced two versions of the Ministers, both were very different in terms of driver arrangement

I do have some, but they're in use in another pair of speakers. Not hard to come by though, they were a popular unit at the time I believe.

That's going to be an issue with your phone line/provider, not with the BeoCom 2. I'd speak to BT or whoever you get your phones from.

Bear in mind it's not simply a case of 'whack in the B&O amps and you've got a fantastic amplifier', the power supply makes a big difference to the sound. As the BeoLab 5s have shown, ICE Power amps are perfectly capable of producing the most stunningly good sound...
