• Re: Beovox Cona - Installation Help
Yes....I use 4! MCL2p's. One for the front L/R, one for the back L/R one for the center and one dedicated to the cona sub.
I guess in principle you could use custom cables to split the 3rd amp between center & LFE channels (both mono) and save one amp. In practice however, I'm afraid at least the

  • Re: Beolab 5000 vs 3000
According to Tim Jarman, the 3000 amplifier has slightly more bass lift to compensate for the much smaller cabinet.
And circuitry for that is pretty much limited to a single resistor (added in 5000). It's all in the service manual...

  • Re: Beogram 4000 bearing disc replacement

No - I'm far too lazy to do anything about problems that I don't have or don't bother me I've never taken the disc out so I don't really know if it's possible at all, but it looked like it might be symmetrical and thus flippable...
@ Mika does yours have a second bearing sleave at the bottom like mine?
Nope. Jacques, I take that you have already tried just flipping the old bottom disc upside down in case the unused side would work better?

Over the one relatively quiet PC in the same room, I don't hear a thing from the BG6000 when the platter is running, even if I press my ear against the corner of the plinth.

I will actually be at the Düsseldorf airport in a month, but it'll be too brief a visit to take you up on your kind offer Glad it worked! The reason I mentioned the SAT button as a possible problem is that it does absolutely nothing on my MX6000, and I can't assign it anywhere. Apparently this is because it is reserved for the optional

I took a peek down there, and there indeed seems to be a nylon plate with a hole in the middle. And a small puddle of yellowish, mid-viscosity oil not unlike engine oil. The lower end of the bearing shaft is conical (with a very wide angle) and I believe it is supposed to keept it centered in the hole. And yes, the bearing alone still wobbles, but not

You're not trying to push them together, are you? Sounds like only the TEXT command is getting through... You need to push & release SHIFT first, then TEXT. BTW I'm not quite sure if the SAT function will work for you - you might need to assign the box as V.TAPE or something. But see what you will find in the menu.

Yes it is possible, the MENU command is sent with SHIFT+TEXT on the older Beolinks. This thread has a number of tricks for various BL1000 versions.
