I use a mix of isoprophylic alcohol, destilled water and dishwash. For heavy cleaning I use 1/4 alcohol, 3/4 destilled water and 2-3 drops of dishwasher fluid, cleaning with a microfiber brush or cloth, and drying with a soft cotton cloth, for daily use a record cleaner microfiber brush moistered with destilled water with a drop of dishwasher fluid

If your Onkyo has a phono input, it has a preamp installed, and you can hokk up your deck directly, the 8000 has no pramp, the MMC cartridge is to consider as moving magnet and not as moving coil. I have my BG 5000 connected to my Onkyo to the phono input and it works OK

Do you still have the teflon disc in it, I have just taken my BG 2404 apart, the small switches had to be cleaned as stop and pause stopped working, maybe too little use, will use it daily now.

Very good job indeed, its always difficault to find failures when "know it alls" has tried to repair, I had a BG 6500 where a Mex. specialist had tried his tricks, result: Jumper leads, connected solder points, bad solder points and broken PCB tracks, some people dont understand that these wunderful pieces needs love and care when repairing
