I think the 8000 runs them all ragged! My 5000, both 6000s and the 8000 are pretty much in daily use and are all in good condition. The 8000 is the one I'd keep if I had to choose between them all.

The straps are a different size - RL140s are really quite big!! £23 is a very good price! You could always tie them together and use them as a punt!
Oh, didn't realise that! guess I'll just have to squeeze them in here somehow! I thought

Depends on what you want the overall look of the system to be. There's not meant to be anything between them to listen to (I own a 6000), so I suppose it depends whether you want the 70s vibe or a mix and match of the 70s and the futuristic 80s. Can I put a plug in for a BM 6000 Quad though - you have a Beocord 5000 after all. Just got mine repaired

FWIW, i had a bm5000 and a bc5000 damaged in shipping. what was damaged? the "glass" display panels... so at least on the 5000 they were glass.
Was that the 80- version ? Beomaster 5000 Søren
The 1960s one didn't have any glass panels.

Could really do with the Commander - wish I had taken the one you had off your hands when I bought this!
John check Ebay, there is one on there at the moment. Craig Thanks Craig - will do :)

What speakers are you going to use with it John? Will you be using 4 or just 2? Craig
Hi Craig At the moment I'm using two MC120.2s. Just boxed up my BC8004 that I've been using with the Beosystem 6000, and that freed up enough space in the cabinet to squeeze the 6000 Quad in. Using a speaker switch box
Congratz John! Take good care of it and how about some pictures of this beauty?? Is the amplifer really that bad?
Thanks Friedmett I don't have anywhere for it to go in this house, but I might put a few pictures up later if I listen to it this evening. In our new flat I think I might use it in the home

If anyone has working BM6000 then I'd wrap it in cotton wool, as it will be worth a small fortune in a few years as no one wants to fix them, and they are invariably broke whenever they do appear on eBay!
What about RL140's?
Fine - as long as you sit up close.
