• Re: Master control panel 6500
The MCP6500 uses a different data link address than the BL5000 and BL7000.
Well, yes and no. I just tried. The MCP sends the longer (two-way with its own address) commands, and the BC9500 executes them just fine, so you can turn it on, select sources and tracks, turn it off, etc. However it never sends back a response

No problem I can actually try it later tonight and report more accurately if it is bearable at all. I suspect the main culprit will be the volume which is very annoying to control when the MCP thinks that nobody is listening to it.

In a limited sense yes, but it will be totally annoying and drive you nuts. Two-way will not work and after each keypress, you will be stuck for a second or two waiting for "NO CONTACT". Friends don't let friends buy an MCP for that purpose!

  • Re: BEOVOX 2 speakers in the new catalogue

In addition to that, you will need to watch that annoying title animation to the end to see the "read more" link, and still more, you need to allow pop-ups for the link to do anything... The speaker looks somewhat cool, though.
Is the weakest link the actual eye? (i.e.) Is the 455 "threshold" driven by the receiver, or by the processing of the signal in the ultimate device?
Think of the IR receiver as a radio tuner - it receives the program modulated on a certain carrier frequency, and out comes baseband audio (or the decoded
I think it will work. I've used a B&O IR eye with the Lintronic code converter in the past and it works very well.
But I'm sure you didn't use it with a non-B&O remote, which is what the OP was after. The B&O IR receivers only respond to 455 kHz IR carrier, which the B&O remotes use

Hard to say what's happening behind the scenes, but this is not good news I'm afraid...

  • Re: Beolab 5000 vs 3000

Yes, the slope difference in the frequency response will be quite shallow with that circuitry. It'll probably even out with one notch of the bass setting, if that. The mechanical part of the amp swap will be 5 minutes with a Torx screwdriver, so not much of a problem either
