Irrespective of whether I think a product is poor or performs well, I've had so many sw-related problems with B&O equipment since I took delivery of my BV7-40 MKIII. I'd say the BS5/BM5 combo can be flaky. I've had to reboot this on at least 10 occasions and it's only been with me for 3 weeks. Since I had this BV70-40 MKIV installed

My BV7-40 has never created a proper link-room connection since I had the MKIV installed. The link-room TV results in a picture that is so poor it's unwatchable. However, it's not the link-room TV as the internal modulator will display an analogue signal. It's only via link-rom. Now I'm getting red and different coloured lines all over
There is nothing superior about the latest iTunes Plus media files (or any other counterpart 256 kbps audio files).
Does anyone actually READ through a forum discussion before giving their opinion? No-one said that, as a rule, the new iTunes Plus audio tracks are now 'better' or more 'superior'

I have the BS4 and BL3 speaker setup and it's recommend. 9/10. BS4 is superb, well-built and designed. The BL3 are good enough for most homes (it's difficult to have a room too large for the BL3s) and, due to the ALT speakers, distribute audio widely through the room. You can get a good mint second hand pair of BL3s for around £1500, too
At least they have seen sense on the latest TVs and made the TV command usefull again. At last with the 8-40 you can assign the digital tuner to "TV" and use DTV, and VMEM for set top boxes
Yep, but as I found this affects link-room TVs. If you assign your DTV or Sky box to 'TV', press 'TV'
but the a CD is mathematically lossless and uncompressed form. it is a mathematical clone of the studio master file whereas the itunes plus is a compressed from the master with a considerable loss of data so itunes plus will never ever be anywhere near as good as a lossless format...
Not always seethroughyou

For me, probably the BL9s. Best all-round speaker in the range. I've just replaced a pair of BL5s for BL9s and I think the sound might be better from the 9s. Why? They don't need calibrating. Set them to 'free standing' and they might out-perform calibrated BL5s (in a room where you have wooden flooring and old wooden windows). Worst
I understand what you're saying but aren't iTunes plus still only 256Kbps compressed *.aac files? My concern regarding files ripped specifically by the publisher for use in iTunes, iPods etc. would be that they are specifically EQ'd for portable systems, PC speakers etc.
But you can argue the same
Boot it in windows and use IE to go to the DIVX website and download the codec pack. Install it on the underlying computer then go back into BeoSound 5 mode. Now video should work brilliantly on the BeoMaster 5. Admittedly I have way more DVD rips than HD, but it all looks great.
If that's the case,

Situation seemed to fix itself. A couple of BM5 reboots (at one stage, I saw a Windows 'this program is not responding' warning on my TV ;) later and all is fine and working again. I'd be very impressed with this BS5 setup if it had a two-way remote facility. At the moment it's a bit like using a single CD player! You go over to the
