Which country are you in? I don't think this type of 2400 was sold in the UK.

Had a chat to a friend about this - it is the silicon damping for the arm drop. The trick is to take off the platter, secure the arm, turn the turn table upside down and take the bottom off. There is a brass pin which is part of the damping mechanism. You need to dribble a little WD40 down the brass pin - it should get into the silicon and thins it

I had some S22s which are the smallest of the S range - OK for a link room and they had the dome tweeter. I wouldn't use them for a main room though. I think you are trying to get a quart out of a pint pot! Especially when you want to use a valve amplifier. Obviously speakers like the Beolab 3 can produce a well balanced sound from a very small

I am not so sure you don't feel 20Hz more than hear it but I think we should realise that all rooms will have acoustic anomalies. I don't think you will get perfect standing waves in a normal room anyway and music will be changing all of the time anyway. Altering the placement by small amounts can change the sound markedly and this is probably

The S35 and S45.2 use the same grille - you will notice that there is a cut out for the extra driver that is not needed in the S35. The S30, I think, uses a slightly different one though the same size!

Yes - it is a proper elliptical stylus - I like the 3 a lot. I had one on a 6002 and used it a fair bit. Very similar to the EN which is very easy to listen to and unfussy about conditions. Doesn't pick up as much dirt as the MMC2!

Nice cartridge - similar to a 20EN as it has the same profile.

I have some B&W DM12s which are not that different from the 2200s in appearance but have the dome tweeter. I think they need some work on them as they are not as sweet as they used to be but some new capacitors might improve them. I know I go on about them, but S45.2s are the VW Golf of the speaker world! Whatever the question!

It is my second - I think it was a very cheap one!
