Yes, hotel california sounded similar on mine without an EQ. I wonder if there are folk here running these speakers on amps other than B&O who perhaps could share their experience? Caps did make a difference and I was very happy with the grade and quality that Martin (dillen) supplied.

Do you consider the 1500 to be better sounding than the Beomaster 2400 Peter? Not sure which one to attack first to be honest!!! At the moment the beomaster sounds similar to my yamaha as it needs a full recap. Apart from that it is aok..

I just bypassed the switches on mine - by no means a long term solution though. Regards the sound I am not terribly happy with my s120's after a recap. They were unloved and have been refoamed, actually quite happy with the bass - I had to restick the mid coils as they had worked loose but this was evident with mid distortion. Anyway to me upper

Look in the DIN socket (adaptor) and make sure that the metal tab is bent so that it makes good contact with the metal outer screen of the b&o plug? Have you got a meter? edit sorry I just read about the din connector wire so as long as this is good that should rule that out!

Good question. I have my S120's without the drills but I think the 150's might look better in my eyes. I would still be tempted to show off the drivers though :)

Kind of good news as fingers crossed I might have new drive at end of week but then I have to re-install windows and get everything up and running once more... Might just beat you with those photos :)

That's one of them go go hamsters in that box isn't it

Just out of interest, and always been curious - do B&O carts slope off at lower frequencies or do other high end cartridges have an exagerated response / sensitivity in the lower end?

Looks like a rather nice and clean Beocord 5000!
