The point stands, BL2 is great with movies and TV but you're better off without it when listening to music. I much prefer my BL4000's with out the BL2, the BL2 seemed to tarnish the well balanced sound. What about adding a good non B&o sub and hide it away, if the budget is tight?

Well black is beautiful but it doesn't look right next to your white speakers! I vote to take those white covers off the BL8000 because they look silly (but the answer to your question, both black and white on the BL9 look equally great in that image, just different. To my knowledge those settings are calibrated to a standard and compenate for any differences / innaccuracies that the parts and hardware of the television may cause (most have unique values)... i know this is the case with the speaker calibration in the beolabs...
