Been convinced of this ever since I watched HD-video over Apple-TV, sent to my viewing room over the internet. Blu-ray will be a niche format, a very small niche. Like Laserdisk to VHS -- and we'll be getting 720p (available now) and 1080p (also available, but not as ubiquitous) over the web. But most people, including myself, do quite excellently

You can now use iRed Touch software, combined with irTrans, to set up full control of your hardware and software playback, incl B&O and non-B&O. http://www.tinbert.com/iRed2/iRedTouch Manual: http://www.tinbert.com/iRed2/iRedTouch/manual/remotes-usage Requires the irTrans modules which will translate wireless commands into IR-code for attached

steph: OK, but i don't have BeoMedia and a sound system. I had a BS9000 but sold it 2 years ago and now want to replace it with the BS5. What can i do ? You can relax. The BS5 is the control interface for a unit that does what BeoMedia 1 did, and then some. If you buy a BS5, you get it included as I understand from comments.

Yes. The Bl3000s would be a vanity decision, they would fit perfectly in my office ... but I'm skeptical, both as to the old drivers, whether they have to be replaced, and to the fact that I'm spoilt with my other speakers. Hmmm - but they would look good up on that wall!

What's a fair price for a pair of Beolab 3000 flat-panel speakers? Been thinking of acquiring them ... I have a Beolab/Beomaster 5000, a Beogram 4000, and a Beosystem 6500 -- all in excellent condition. Been mulling whether I should get the "proper" speakers for the 5000s - will mull some more. Was very close to getting two Continental

Interesting thread. A point about Apple and rights to music. Steve Jobs has repeatedly called for music companies to make their music DRM-free. He's managed to get EMI on board, and other record companies are realizing that worked out well for EMI. However, because Apple is getting so powerful (the world's largest music seller now) companies

benoit: I understand your bad opinion. I had several very bad sale and after sale experiences with the last dealer remaining in Strasbourg and I wrote a mail to Struer. After that Mr S... (the dealer) called me in my office and was very agressive and upset because I contacted Struer. Your dealer called you in to dress you down? What a fool he is. A

I can't really sympathize. You've bought a pair of used BeoLab 1s, probably at a very considerable discount. The speakers are discontinued by B&O, and you expect to receive "as new" warranty and service?

Sounds like good news for the 2nd Hand market in white Beosystem 6500/7000, Beomaster 1200/2000, white turntables, etc.
