Hi and welcome to Beoworld. Assuming the Harman Kardon FL 8380 CD player has RCA/Phono outputs it should plug straight into the CD input of the beomaster 5500. If you look at the inputs of the beomaster you will see that below the 5 pin DIN socket there are also RCA/Phono sockets which were intended for exactly this type of application. Oh - unless

Go with the Beolink 1000 Steve, it will give you everything you need for daily use. A bit more user friendly with the 6500 than a Beo4 and far more child proof. Chris.

Best? - Beolink 1000. Classic remote extremely well made and easy to use. Also good for hammering nails & fending off muggers (everyone should really keep one under their pillow). Worst? - Beovox X25's which came with a Beocenter 2200. Good for adjusting the sights on my air rifle though so they did eventually have some use. Chris.
