Hi I was thinking of starting a debate about whether the Earth is round, the Moon is made of rock and dust, and whether bears $hit in the woods. Judging by this thread we'd have a very lively debate as to the merits of these very tenuous and yet-to-be-proven theories.

Flat earthers and pseudo-scientists aside, I must apologise for the 'directness' of my language. On a family forum such as this there is no place for name calling, and I'm sure that Dave is of good character and strong moral fibre. We can agree to differ on the issue of climate change I'm sure. For any offence caused, I offer my humblest

Assuming you're serious and not taking the pi$$, then you're a complete bell-end. I hope the seas engulf your part of the world first, rather than in some of the countries where we have representatives that will genuinely be in the front line of climate change. Ask some of the Aussie members about the water rationing and record temperatures

Hi Jon Like Peter, I recently fitted a pair of replacement 8" new Peerless woofers in some MC120.2s. I don't have any equipment to measure the results, but all I can say is that I am very pleased with them. Both my old woofers needed re-foaming, and one of the voice coils was dead, so to me the new units were a simpler (if more expensive) and

Looks and sounds great Martin! I just showed this to my girlfriend and she asked if I wanted a Beolit 39 for my 40th birthday. I, of course, said yes! Only ten years to wait though :(

I'd try another amp Jeff. I have MC120.2s that I'm currently using with a Beomaster 6000 4 Channel amp and they sound good, but not as good as when they're connected to my Beomaster 6000 (the 80s version). The 4500 wasn't the most powerful or capable amp ever - I wonder if you'd notice a difference with the 2400? Most people rate
Yes, do you think BC 9000 by itself produce better sound? (It's going to be set to low volume in a small room.)
Unlikely - it would be very quiet without an amplifier! Seriously though - assuming you can find one, and then have it serviced, you are unlikely to find a finer amp for the money that a Beomaster
The tamper arived today, and already there is a definite improvement, though I know it will take me a while to get it right. The Europiccola is certainly tempting though... it appeals to the geek in me
It's a great machine - only took me three years to perfect!
-
Ray - wait until your tamper arrives. It took me ages to work it out, but about 95% of a decent shot is in the tamping pressure. It must be firm, and try giving the tamper a little twist one way or the other as you finish, just to polish the grind up a little :)
I have a solution - I'm suprised you didn't think of it yourself! Why not persuade some rich benefactor to sponsor you through college. You can then live somewhere larger and keep all of your collection! Simple really!
Are you offering?
