The cantilever might not be fine once Axel has cut the end off the cartridge. He quotes an all or nothing price which I think is very reasonable when you compare it with the SMMC2 from Sound-smith.

I am in the process of scrapping a Beocenter 9000 and the fully working CD mechanism is available for sale. It was traded in as the sliding doors did not work. Someone has greased and oiled the door mechanisms and I cannot be arsed to clean it all down. I have robbed the glass panels and the cassette mechanism but the CD mech is available. I have played

You need to join ground on the deck to ground on the BS9000. Easiest way is probably join the shield on the DIN plug from the 5005 to the shield on the DIN socket in the 9000

The numbers are from the Beocenter 2300/2500 service manual which, as a gold member, you have access to. I assume that it is not this type of mains cable that is frowned upon by the EU regulation, rather, the non moulded type of connectors that you are considering buying. I presume that B&O cables are expensive because they DO conform to safety

These were available from B&O dealers, have you tried your local?

If the glass panel is loose it will never work reliably. The glass needs to be re-fixed to the plastic frame pieces so that the glass makes the correct contact with the rubber on the sensors.
