Don't worry too much about the black brick. This was probably used in a multiroom setup. Which is why you have more than one remote. You should be able to plug the speakers straight into the connections on the Beomaster. Craig

It is what I would call a smoke tint, it is not very far off been clear. It apears to be a thin plastic from what I can see, although with it in place there is no way of telling the thickness. Craig
