I am sure they will be just fine!

I know what you mean but the answer is no. Beolab 5s can be regarded as active speakers and as such bear comparison with many other high end speakers. I have never seen any poor reviews when attached to a good source, your Thorens clearly being such a source. The weak link in your set up would probably be the Beosound 9000 as the pre-amp in this is

Not sure that is quite what Frede is saying - B&O provide perfectly good wire with their speakers and there is no point messing round with ridiculously expensive wire instead. B&O have performed many listening tests on wire and the supplied items are a very good example of what suits the speaker. Obviously with passive speakers, avoid long runs

Superb when used in a surround system. I use mine with Pentas and 4000s. I don't like it with music alone but I don't really use this system for that except at low volumes where it has less effect. I am sorry that your erudite reply was a casualty of this but I didn't think that there was much else to add. I was trying to leave it on site but was persuaded otherwise. As a moderator, I have to say

Actually I think Graham is right and it should be fine. The pins 6 and 7 carry data and these are described as looping through in the service manual. Obviously if you have the 3000s attached to the receiver or TV rather than coming from the Beolab 2, then this is not an issue anyway.

The only other audio ultrasound remote is that for the quad 6000. They are not interchangeable though.
