Just a thought..........you have undone the 3 transit screws underneath the unit????

I suspect your man is talking about a BRAND NEW IN BOX 6500 system complete with BNIB speakers which ends tonight. IF it is what it says it is then it is worth all of £1500. Active or passive speakers work equally as well with Beosystem 6500 depending on the mans ears!

If the stylus is any good I suggest that you remove it for safe keeping while you sort out the platter problem. With or without mains connected, you should be able to turn the platter MANUALLY in a clockwise direction for ever. If you cannot do so then something is jammed in the gears under the platter. If you can turn the platter freely clockwise then

I have heard that CDM2 and CDM4 laser units were interchangeable but I have never had the need to do it as of the 30 or so units that have needed CD repair from me, it has always been the C2103 capacitor that has been the culprit. I believe that several European members as well as Auric in the US have reported success with swopping laser units from

Hello Tony. Kind words indeed from Chris, now I've got to live up to them! Chris is quite correct in his analysis of the fault and of most B&O service centres - the price they quoted was diabolical and probably designed to drive you away. You could try cleaning the laser lens which, in many cases, is enough to cure the problem, at least temporarily
