About a week ago I was sitting beach side with my A8s in South Carolina listening to Kings of Leon Come Around Sun Down . Problem was, I couldn't post to tell you all about it cause there wasn't any Wi-fi!

Just to name a few other good brands: Paradigm, Quad and Pioneer Elite. The latter has some cool stuff going on, lately I noticed they are offering all class D amp sections in some of the receivers.

A passive setup is a perfectly respectable way to listen. I agree with you, active is superior but it is not necessary to plainly discount the passive method.
