Apologies for showing a photo from this session again, but it's pertinent. Loudspeaker designs are different, and loudspeakers sound different. You have to pick the ones that please you, playing the music you like. And you'll find that different people will go for different sound signatures, often in ways that will really surprise you. (And

I fear I share your confusion, Puncher, when it comes to Wonderfulelectric's prose on loudspeakers. And stating that "neutrality is overrated" is ridiculous, and as you state: "little distortion and low coloration" is neutral. Here's the point, as Puncher also made it above: a neutral speaker/system, will let you hear the

Oh, I feel quite comfortable in my knowledge of B&O's signature sound, having had ample occasion to sample it, and also to get it explained in detail by those who create it -- and then with the particulars of the sound signature in mind. I find your comments somewhat amusing, Wonderfulelectric, as they seem somewhat biased ... ? And what's

A BeoSystem 3 would be your best bet, if you wish to have B&O integration throughout. If you want to consider an option to that, then I'm of the "You don't say?" school when it comes to claimed excellence for various surround-sound processors/amps. The Parasound comment above, about setting the BL5s to neutral, isn't really

In fact, on the BL5s, the treble goes lower after 6000Hz ... according to a most knowledgeable friend of mine: "Not unusual, in order to reduce possible tape hiss, etc. on non-monitor speakers." Must confess I haven't seen any measurements showing a boosted treble. Do you have links, Wonderfulelectric?

Conclusion: The Big Picture Whether you hook up your TV via digital connections, analog connections, or both, you are unlikely to detect any difference in picture quality between a cable with

The world's a small place. Guess who was in Columbia, S.C. the season #38 won the Heisman Trophy? And I did see every one of the home games, as well as a couple of aways.

Most sms-messages and mms show which carrier the person you are communicating with is subscribing to (message details). One of the major problems with iPhone 3G is

Peter : Analogue out on the CDX and £1000 machine. Must confess to not being sure about the CD555 - it is £14000 so it didn't detain me too long! I would recommend using the CDX, and then adding an Audiolense, or DEQX signal processing with calibration and room adaptation, giving you full control of the frequency response in your listening
-
Did you listen to the analog-OUT or the digital-OUT, Peter? I did specify the digital-OUT above. Many top-end cd-players do considerable signal processing after having lifted the signal off the CD, and this signal processing creates sound signatures. (Naim clearly has one, as does Mark Levinson.) The unprocessed bitstream should be identical. (Yes,
