I do not have the MX5000 but typically if you click menu on the remote, under settings or options you configure the source (i.e. Video, I don't think the BL1000 has DVD) and then you assign there also what input to use. You may get some indication when the finacials are released next month. Maybe your dealer gives you an option to purchase at the old price within a month. If you are not happy with the size, I would probably skip it and wait. It's too much money ...... What is you viewing distance?

One more point is, depending on what Music you listen to it ay not make much sense. A lot of CDs are not recorded up to par with BL5 in my opinion. While I would love them myself, I will stick to my BL3 BL2 combination for that reason. I also think there is nothing wrong buying an older pair of BL5s for a lower price. Used is used, usually not much

If you are after picture quality and the latest connections I would take the plunge. Personally based on my viewing habits I would also consider something used if the price is right. I ended up with BV8, no surround though but I dont want the cables to the rear anyway. I would wait and see what they will pre-announce for the next year in the August

I have a BV8, I selected Ipod Remote - made sure ATV is unpaired - and it works like a charm. I think you have to have a current STB software, it may even be that one works and a later one doesn't. Beocare confirmed for my BV8 that it can control the ATV. It might be beneficial if you contact them and ask them which version would support that. They

Beocare confirmed that they are working on blueray in their forum. I don't think the blueray upgrade is such a big deal, it will still -play normal DVDs. Question is how high the price will go up. I doubt they throw that in as freebie. As for format not taking off, I agree but it can anytime once they lower the price to DVD level which I dont think
