I believe this to be an electronic fault on the pcb. The last one that I saw which exhibited the same fault was cured by my fitting a replacement board from a cosmetically challenged turntable which I scrapped.

Check the arm bearings! I had a BG4000 where they were seized solid and had to be dismantled to get them working!

The answer was no when I tried about 12 months ago.

No need to open. Just remove the lower glass - one screw under the left front corner and slide the glass to the right.

Using Beolink 1000 GOTO to input a specific number such as 400 to start then >> . When station is tuned press STORE/Ch Number/STORE then >> for the next station.

The FM and AM displays can be corrected using the procedures on pages 7-11 and 7-12 in the service manual. Looks simple enough.
