  • Re: Bang&Olufsen & OLED technology

While problems still exist with OLED technology, I don't think that Bang & Olufsen will be sitting on the sidelines for nearly as long as they would have in the past. If recent events (especially the firing of IdeaLand staff) are any indication, B&O is fast moving toward being less precious and more practical. Quite aside from the practical

  • Re: Is it possible to set up a BeoLink system without an B&O TV or Audio System ?

Phil, The product guide is unfortunately unclear. It is referring to a scenario wherein you want to connect an eye to it, and use it as though it is a stereo in a single room (say you have a couch in the study, for example), but it cannot distribute under that scenario. The product guide is so unclear, in fact, and information regarding this so scarce

  • Re: Beoport , Beomedia or Apple TV ?

Maybe my BeoSound 5 has spoiled me. I just can't wrap my ears around the sound from an Apple product played through anything but headphones and digital music just wasn't a part of my global system until the BeoSound 5 came home for that reason. I record in 320kbps MP3 so the files are more versatile and I'm sure that has something to do

  • Re: BS5, N.MUSIC: Fav-List - what you see is NOT what you get

Gentlemen, It is picking up somewhere on the MOTS playlist that track had initially generated. If you want your Seed 1 list to start with the song you chose, you actually need to hit < , select that first song, and press GO . Once you spend some time with the interface, this makes a little more sense. Since the player is essentially a smart randomizer

  • Re: Beoport , Beomedia or Apple TV ?

I know this topic comes up a lot, but I think that aside from different users having different requirements that there is no really good solution in general. The sound from an AppleTV is unlistenable on any speakers (to my ears at least), but it's super convenient to sync a music collection with iTunes. The BeoPort is a lousy solution because it

  • Re: Make your own hdmi-dvi cable

He should convert DVI to VGA at the back of the unit with a little adaptor (around $10 on Amazon) and then run a VGA. If the connectors are too big he should use the CAT-V w/baluns as provided by Intellix or Gefen. They're rock solid and any attempt to "make" a multi-conductor video cable is a bag of hurt.

  • Re: beosound 5 - 2way remote??

Not a remote exactly, but there is a "second room" product that will have a GUI. The BeoSound 5 isn't changing anytime in the foreseeable future and these add-ons will work with the current units.

  • Re: Connecting a Beomaster 5 on a Avant TV

If the AV inputs at the top are the only ones available than you may have an issue. These are "line sensing" inputs meaning that anything plugged in will supersede other connected peripherals. It is meant, as you mentioned, for video cameras and such. The real issue is that until late summer or early fall, you won't be able to do this

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen for the ignorant or for the connoisseur?

Moxxey, that's really the point that I was making. For all the pared down simplicity of much of the range, the BeoSystem 3 took the kitchen sink approach and has nearly a dozen features on board that 2/3s or better will never use, yet pay for each and every time. I've been arguing since the BeoSystem 3 was launched that there should be a standalone
