Hello Jeff, Mika & Co, Thanks for your time and generosity! Yes I can confirm the BC 6000 and 8000 cores are identical, nut for nut. Even the 8002 shares the same mech, but has HX-PRO. My BC 6000 sounds really great with Dolby B, very little hiss being audible, and treble being clear and sonorous. So YES I am looking forward to your part, just hoping

Thanks Eugenio. My real problem is that the bearing housing is actually cracked, almost broken all along, well beyond repair. I know about the teflon trick, but the rubber is fine on my unit. I just need a new part really !

Thanks. I know what snake oil is, believe me. I normally use Wima or Ero caps wherever (more than whenever!) possible, especially with valves. With everybody just telling me the Black Gates are great, including audio mags, I am possibly wrongly biased. If Martin and yourself tell me they won't make any—or little—difference on B&O
