I am looking for the alluminium holder/desk charger for the Beocom 9800 GSM mobile from the late '90s. Can anyone help? Cleve

Any of the later MMC series will work with your Beogram - from the top of the range MMC1 to the more basic spherical stylus mounted MMC5. The series of cartridges manufactured by Soundsmith for B&O turntables will also work well. The MMC2 is a very good cartridge - some people consider it to be too good for the deck - and it was the standard fitting

As the person who bought Peter's Beosystem 8000, after going through a similar process of decision making, I can only say that I'm very glad I did. But then, I'm still suffering from the Beovirus as well! There is a view that those with an 8000 system eventually don't use it if they have other high end B&O equipment as well, but

The rooms are connected via a large archway and I can run the passive speaker cables, hidden behind existing cabinets, to where I would

I can't remember what thread it was in, but this is a link to the organisation that adapts the 2500/0verture to use an Iphone in place of a cassette mechanism that was mentioned in that thread. http://www.beodesign.org/ Cleve

I would endorse fully the recommendation for S45.2s as excellent speakers, particularly if used with their pedestal stands. ( I love mine). If you are in the UK, an alternative to consider, although slightly less easy to find, are the Beovox 3800. These were a UK only model designed to maximise the benefits of arcane tax regulations over bass driver
