  • Re: Photo guide to re-covering RL-60 speakers

I am going to have a go on my RL 140's soon, after I have reconed. I have every intention to do a writeup but generally speaking there is more work in the writeup than the actually work involved lol so I wouldn't hold your breath Sorry that makes this post completely pointless but it was a 'post before I think' job and I've writen

I agree with you Lee, especially as the tech has more than likely left it without saying anything. Some might argue there is a potential source of unwanted noise... It is dissapointing to see B&O using a system that has generally failed to stand the test of time! Can see lots of these speakers needing a recloth in 20 years.... "oh dear, what

Good detective work :) I wouldn't say brain dead, but maybe it won't harm to take a break and get some fresh air for a couple days lol!

I doubt the problem stems from this part of the circuit as there is very little to go wrong! I suspect your oscilloscope is loading this to the point of killing the signal but maybe worth a chat with Martin.

Something very wrong there! I got the brightness right by using my adjustable powersupply with leds and ameter in situ then used the forumla (Vs - 2xVf) / If Vs=supply Vf = led forward voltage If = forward current. The leds I use are ultra high brightness types that I purchased specially. However, Martin has a stock of bulbs so try contacting him if

+V --> LED --> resistor (for practical purposes) -->LED --> GND I will look for a picture.... You really should set up the reset circuit properly otherwise it won't do it's job if there are 'blips' in the mains. It is designed to pause the micro before the micro iteself seizes to function. It is not a bad job I recall it

regarding the signal from the reciever you might not be able to measure this as it has a very high impeadance and tiny signal which means it will dissapear when you touch with the scope probe. I would check the IC hasn't come loose from the socket you installed?

I replace these with LED's now, I know some might not agree and I don't replace with LED's when it is obvious but in this case you can't tell. I replace the balance indicators with original spec bulbs. You will have to mess around to get the light right I cover mine with that invisible tape which diffuses the light a little. I also connect
