I have that very same Samsung blu-ray player and can definitely recommend it. It has dual hdmi ouputs so it can output 3D on a 3D screen while sending the audio to a BeoSystem 3. This player can play just about anything you throw at it in terms of video or audio files using filed burned to a DVD, filed on a USB stick, or even an external hard drive
Before I built a cabinet: Beovision 10-46, AppleTV 1&2, Samsung BD -D7500 (CD-DVD-Blu-Ray), Beocom 6000 Cisco HD recorder, Beolab 2
I see you have the slim, wall-mountable Samsung Blu-Ray player. That matching the B&O perfectly. I considered that BD player but needed the Samsung BD player that has

Couldn't they have built AirPlay support in to the Encore? If B&W can do it for the far cheaper Zeppelin, surely B&O can include this in the Encore?
Exactly my point, i actually think it is a bit embarresing to advertise the encore this way. There is absolutly nothing

I just bought a Samsung 3D TV last weekend and can verify that the older, non-HDMI 1.4 BeoSystem 3 CAN INDEED allow 720P 3D on a cable box with the video input passing through the BeoSystem 3. However, 1080p 3D blu-ray will not work passing through the BeoSystem 3. Regardless, you must have a 3D compatible screen. For the 3d blu-ray, I used a dual-HDMI

I bought and tried the Twonky app on the iPad. It worked at first but only for a few songs. Then, it kept saying that it couldn't play the song. It displayed the BM5 cover art, but it downgraded all of the cover art to a low resolution. I personally would rather have no cover art than low-res cover art. I'm having fun with the EyeCon app playing

Richard, I'm glad to find someone on this forum who has the Samsung SP-A 600. I've been thinking of replacing my 700p Sim2 with the SP-A 600. The price is great. What are your feelings on its performance? Did it respond to the IR controls in the BeoSystem 3 PUC for the other Samsung projectors listed in the PUC? While the SIM2 was an expensive

... then it sends that music to the BeoSound 5 to be played via the A.Aux....
which means the BS5 must be the an audio master? thanks very much for your help so far... Stan
You're correct. All of these new features require the BeoSound 5 to act as audio master. Otherwise
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is all about playing music that is stored on your phone through your BS5, not using your phone to select and play songs already stored on the BS5... correct? Stan
The Eyecon app that I'm using let's you search and select any sources connected to your network

Update 2: You can download a free app for your Mac or PC called EyeconTunes that will make your computer's iTunes library discoverable and searchable on the Eyecon app on the iPad, which will then play the selection via A.Aux on the BeoSound 5.
