I've just bought one on eBay for 200 EUR so 300 USD isn't too far off. Mine also came with a round chromed base on the smaller foot which it looks like this one is missing. They actually help create space as I put an mx3500 tv, Beogram 4002 and 3 x Beosystem 7000 components + a Beolink 7000 and table charger on mine with Penta speakers either

I presume the amp is more of a pre-amp but if you read the product info on the Beogram 1500, it does pair it with the Beolab 5000 tuner. I'll know more when it gets here. Dave.

Surely this system is worth a tenner! The rabbits ear aerial is going for nearly £50 in the UK at the moment: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-BANG-AND-OLUFSEN-RADIO-AND-RECORD-PLAYER-/160486388559?pt=UK_Consumer_VintageAudio_RL&hash=item255dbbf34f Only 3 hours to go though. Dave.

It sure is. I'm used to being beaten to the prize many a time in the past on eBay. I've paid for it (why don't German sellers take Paypal? - which I thought was against eBay rules) by bank transfer and wait in anticipation. I'm sure it will need some work. I may use it with my soon to be restored Beolab/Beomaster 5000 system as it was

Hi Chris, if that was the one that finished last night - it was me. Sorry but I wanted one too! I haven't seen many of these 1500's for sale and couldn't resist. I hope you find another soon. Dave.

You can sand at 1000 grit with the Danish oil. It will form a slurry which will fill any deep voids with matching wood and help disguise the faults. Sand with the grain - not against it. The oil will really bring out the colour and the figure of the wood. Dave.

The Rio Palisander is now CITES controlled so very difficult to obtain. As this seller shows, it does come in a variety of shades: http://wood-veneer.com/product.php?veneer=Rosewood%20Brazilian%20Veneer Bloodwood could be a nice alternative. I need to rebuild the wood surround for a Beogram 4002 and am thinking of using something exotic but haven't

Hi Clive, an interesting question and someone from B&O should know. Speakers and many other units used to be matched so they must have used a good supplier who could supply in bulk. If you Google search for 'Palissander veneer' you will find many sellers of veneer. If you are matching your Beogram to some speakers, you may be able to find

Hey Mika (and Guy), you're right! I found it at Beocentral too. Just shows that we can't fully rely on Beoworld for all of our information. I still prefer the 900 series though. Dave.

Hi Guy, do you mean the 900K? as the 1400's don't have speakers built-in (check in the 'products' section of the site. They come up on eBay regularly and seem to travel well but make sure the speakers are OK if you can. e.g. http://cgi.ebay.de/Bang-Olufsen-Beomaster-900K-optisch-super-Zustand-/190447828270?pt=DE_Elektronik_Computer_Audio_Hi_Fi_Receiver&hash
