Ehlerz, If the BV-7 had this, Apple aficianados like me would completely bypass a B&O audio system by using the BV-7 as an audio master (to which we'd connect things like an Apple TV). B&O's seemingly purposeful omission of this ability on their high-end TVs (which could be incorporated via the simple and logical addition of a digital

Soundproof, Great story. And, I couldn't agree more with your sentiments regarding loyalty to businesses that are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about their products. The premium one pays to patronize a business like the gunsmiths you described (as opposed to a higher volume, less personable store), is well worth it on several levels (not the least

I use the Apple TV connected to a BV8 and some BL3s. I control it via the Beo4 by using the PUC on the BV8. This is, IMHO, the ultimate "poor man's media server". If I don't want to run the BV8s LCD backlight and if I'm only listening to music, I click in to the "picture mute" mode via the Beo4 and peruse my music collection

Soundproof, Thank you so much for taking the time to write this post. I've been contemplating getting some BL5s for a couple years now (I know - I need to stop contemplating and simply bite the bullet), and I'm going to put this post in my web browser's "favorite" list. A couple of quick questions for you: -How much better does

I'm with jk1002, I really like using the BV8's "PUC" to control the Apple TV via a Beo4. I had used the Beo4 for several years on audio devices, but when used with the BV8, it really shines. I use my Beo4 to control the TV, the cable box, and the Apple TV. After awhile it becomes so intuitive that you can operate it in the dark. It's

Here are my thoughts on this topic - Forewarning: my thoughts are not politically correct! I'm embarrassed that Lee or any of the moderators are having to defend an issue that obviously isn't an issue. If "sensotronic" has gotten his panties in a "Y" over these non-issues, I would humbly suggest that he's too overly sensitive

Can you say "recession-proof"? http://macdailynews.com/index.php/weblog/comments/20885/ Come on B&O! Read the tea leaves better. Mark

Cleve, You're definitely one of the gang. I enjoyed your insights (I definitely need to get the Jarman brothers' book) and your thoughts on B&O. It's reassuring that B&O keeps "pulling you back in" (to quote Al Pacino in "The Godfather III") after all these years. I'm sitting here perusing music on my AppleTV

OK, if B&O isn't going to embrace Apple in the way that diehards like myself would like, at least don't hinder those of us that want to play our iTunes media on our B&O equipment. I agree that, at the very least, B&O should be platform agnostic. That would mean letting the BS5 play Apple lossless (which I don't think is something

Trip, We can agree to disagree about the merits of B&O tying their ship to Apple's software platform. However, the BS5 is not a convenient "portal" in the way it connects to iTunes. Hasn't B&O made the device less iTunes friendly by not allowing it to play lossless AAC formated songs? To hook it in to the Apple ecosystem, one
