Ermmm... So why is there usually a lot less jitter when using a 24bit/96khz source on the same DAC? You have also forgotten one thing. Data retrieval from a hard disk is much easier. There's like a buffer before ripping cds on to a hard disk and a buffer upon retrieval of music info from a hard disk. Also again, cd players don't all have bit

Well that's the general consensus, besides audio critics love to use the phrase " analogue-like" while referring to state of the art cd players. Because of the low level of exposure that I have to analogue sources, I can only say that my hard disk player sounds smoother and less fatiguing than normal cd transports. I know cos I hooked

Puncher: wonderfulelectric: beoberlin: Alex: think of a product to compliment the BeoLab 5 (hence the '5' moniker) Afaik this is not true for the product now released. Their were several incarnations of the bs5 while developing it. Hence the long time til finishing the project. The first one(s) being true high-end systems to complement the bl5

I remember that I read somewhere that the sound quality of the latest iteration of Windows has better sound performance than a Mac OS. So guess it's okay. You guys should know that Mac don't really support HD 24bit audio well right?

Can't really say that is better but they are definitely very different. The D/A converter in BS 9000 uses oversampling whereas the D/A converter in BS 5 may be upsampling or simply a simple standard D/A conversion. The method employed in BS 9000 may introduce more ultrasonic noise but it is argued that the method may preserve better phase. Anyways

Peter : The Beosound 5 is simply the controller for the Beomaster 5. It allows browsing without a TV set of digital music and also helps select Internet Radio channels. Whether you want this is something only the consumer can decide. The addition of the MOTS system provides a sophisticated algorithm based piece of software that helps maximise your music

koning: wonderfulelectric: yeah... D/A chips are cheap. I am most worried about the implementation of the operating software and the clocking system. And not to mention the output stages.... But who wants to go into the technicals?..... Let's hope that the Beosound 5 is as important to B&O as it was purported to be. What I don't understand

Speaking of telephones. I kinda find that B&O phones are getting behind the others. Now it seems that most telephones out there have colour screens and special ringtones and built-in voice mail. Maybe B&O should consider revamping the telephone range by adding those functions more like an upgrade? Cos the designs and sound quality still seem
