2000F: Is this one on eBay cool (the transceiver isn't stated to be included though - was it an extra option back then)? http://cgi.ebay.de/B-O-Bang-Olufsen-Beolink-MCL-2-AV-MCL2AV_W0QQitemZ250196156200QQihZ015QQcategoryZ82077QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Hi fellow! That is an (old) Xtra TV -kit which uses the IR unit of a B&O television

To have independent (almost) volume control you need an MCL system with MCL2AV (w Transceiver) and MCL2P plus MCL Cabling. MCP6500 works fine in a a link setup.

hagan: Yes! And the converter must be connected directly to the aux on beomaster. It cannot be connected to the mcl in the linkroom. You might need a Y-cable if uou already have something connected to your aux. Are you sure about this? I have BS3 connected through a Beolink converter to the MCL2AV in a link room. The BM6500 is in a separate room and

Mine follows almost the same route. I was visiting a consumer fair in 1985 and the B&O stand was demonstrating the BS5000 with a CD player. The system looks and performance knocked me out. I was a student at the time and could not afford any B&O products. After the show I introduced the system to my girlfriend (current wife) who said nothing

Done the first, nice beginning of the saga!

Personally I have not been convinced that the panel itself B&O is using differs in any respect from other Panasonic ones. It would cost a fortune to have custom specified specifications in the current development cycle of the panels. "The commercial grade" seems to be more or less marketing jargon. There are obviously differences in the

I have just ordered one and feel confident that my dealer is capable in his job. Hopefully I receive the remote in time to vote! My plan is to use the Beo 5 instead of Beo 4 to control the BS 3 plus the main room BS6500 via MCL.

To verify the issue I had to run a test. So I am having a temporary setup (do not ask for pictures...). With only 4 speakers I could not select anything else than Centre + Fronts after powering up the system, the only speaker options acceptable by the BS 3 were 1 to 3. BS3 dedicated one pair of BL4000's as center regardless of the selected connection
-
Yes and no. Centre and Sub are having dedicated Powerlink sockets in the BS3, all the others can be programmed. My BS3 is in a box (TV room is under renovation) so no testing is possible. Anyway if you have only one set of speakers you can force all sound to the front speakers with the Beo 4. Just select Speakers + 2. If you have also surround speakers

Basically you should be struggling with the (still) ongoing debate between LCD and Plasma. Having both in the household my personal preference for movies and sports is for plasma. LCD is having more problems with movement and some colours than plasma. Aesthetics and integrated DVD speak for BV7 (w BL 7.4) but that is not all. If and when your are looking
