  • Re: DVD2

wtlc2zpx: The DVD2 does not have an IR eye and rely on the Beovision signals being sent on AVL. p. Does it mean that if DVD2 is connected to a Beovision not via Scart but via a HDMI-DVI or Y-Pb-Pr cable, then it can no longer receive IR signals through Beovision and hence no longer be controlled with Beo4?

  • Re: Beovision 7 placement/wires

I am afraid there are not many good solutions in this respect. I had the same problem with my BV7 but with the outlets mounted in the floor behind the BV7. I have had all the cables wrapped in a cover matching the colour of the floor and put a plant beside the BV7 to hide them a little bit.

  • Re: Blank cassette

Peter: I think I am right in saying that although Maxell tapes are very good, they have a reputation for being slightly more abrasive. This is correct. The quality of the Maxell tapes also deteriorated in the 90s, while TDK SA/MA range has always been very good. If Maxell, then go for the models produced in the 80s (still available on Ebay).

  • Re: trip to europe

Michael Late October is not the best time to spend holidays in Switzerland as the summer is over but the ski season has not started yet. In addition, it can be quite rainy and already chilly in the mountain regions. Some hotels even close for this time of the year. You may most likely find a nice weather in the Ticino region of Switzerland (Italian

The TDK or Maxell chrome or metal tapes are excellent. As a B&O fan you probably also ought to own a B&O cassette tape (they were produced by BASF, chrome type). They appear sometimes on Ebay.

  • Re: New updates?

Keith Saunders: There is an HD upgrade kit for the BeoCentre 6-26 now. Keith, what does it mean? I have believed that my BC6-26 is already HD ready.

  • Re: Copy protected CDs

<b><i>Richard : Which Cd was it? I've never come across a copy protected CD before. Does it say so on the cover? Copy protected CDs display a logo in shape of a triangle put in a circle and statement "Copy Controlled". In fact, I have quite a few of such CDs, e.g. all latest Depeche Mode singles have been released as copy protected

  • Re: Need advice regarding surround sound

marcus_m: Hi, just order the surround module with the BC6-26 and you're fine. I would suggest to use the BL8k as front speaker and the BL2500 as rear speakers (pay attention to place right and left one correct as they do not have switches). Then masterlink the BC6 and the Ouverture (BC6 in option 2, Ouverture in option 0). The DVD player question

  • Re: Copy protected CDs

What annoys me is not really a problem with data right management but that a brand new Beosound 4 is not able to read this CD while the DVD player of Beovision 7 is (although this is not its main function to play music CDs). To make a further test I have unpacked my old Denon CD player (manufactured in 1999) and it plays back this CD without any problems
