Hi, I have outdoor speakers however the IR sensor is mounted just inside the door. The remote still works through the door although you have to point it directly at the door. The speakers I use are Accusound which are Australian. Great speakers and not overly expensive. Peter

Agree with above but it's easier to open the doors normally and then turn the power off at the switch. That way the doors won't try and close while you're trying to remove/reinstal the glass. Peter

Don't know if that will work. I thought the Passive has Masterlink in and Powerlink/2 pin din out. I didn't think the Passive would activate without the remote sensor. Peter

Another option might be a Wireless 1. Same features as the active with individual control etc but without the wires. Peter

Hi, What about the Beovox 1 for speakers? Haven't heard them so can't comment on the sound. I have a passive installed in the roof and a water resistant Jamo speaker which works well. The IR is installed just near the light switch. Rarely use the remote in the bathroom as the system has usually been activated elsewhere in the house. Peter

Yes, though it probably won't turn the subwoofer on/off (if it is powered) unless it is able to sense the signal coming through when you use the speakers. I have had my BS 9000 for over 2 years and it has made the same high pitched whine since day one. I thought it might be a problem but the 9000 in the B&O store also did it. Could be something to do with it being semi-open (ie. glass cover is not fully enclosed/sealed). Peter
