• Re: B&O insurance claim! yay!
Sweet! What are you going to buy?
Well I've decided to pay off the rest of my car which I owe R30 000.00 then buy another Beomaster 6500 and have it shipped here. The rest put it in the bank...or use the rest of the money to add towards the trade in value of my current car and upgrade

The insurance paid me for the replacement cost which B&O South Africa said the equivalent would be a Beosound 3200 and Beolab 6000. They give the money though and its up to you to purchase the item. I also paid no excess. Very good insurance company.

Thats true....and it was in perfect working order and virtually no scratches. I was very lucky I have to say.

  • B&O insurance claim! yay!

My Beomaster 6500 got damaged by lightening and I claimed for the entire Beosystem 6500 as it is not possible to find a replacement Beomaster 6500 in my country. I was extremely lucky and got the entire system including RL140 speakers for R2500.00! A bargain I know. The insurance phoned me today to say that they will pay me out R55 000.00!!! I was floored

Thanks for the tips Martin. One more problem I'm afraid!! The Tuning string has obviously gotten old and when I tried to thread it back it kept breaking, so now I have a whole lot of broken pieces of string!! I'm not sure what the best subsitute would but I guess I could find something. Only problem is how long should the string be?? Does it

Not the easiest task, for sure. Patience, strong coffee and page 6-2 in the service manual are key words. Martin
I was afraid that would be the answer lol!!!
Well I've upgraded to silver to get the manuals :)
