I have finally been able to continue my Beomaster 1700 repairs. I bought it from eBay for some 30 GBP but it was poorly packed and the top-glass was broken! And the insides were full of miniature pieces of glass... The tuning sliders and tone controls were all slipping (or not moving at all!) and the two belts cut. Even the mains cable had to be replaced

The Beovox panel speakers CAN be mounted to wall by just having two long screws with big head on the wall (ie. leaving them about 2-3cm from the wall). My BV3000s have been on wall like this for about a year now without any problems. A wall bracket would, of course, be the best option, especially for the heavier Beolab models.

With Beo4 you need to add SHIFT (or V.AUX) command to your LIST. We have all seen BL1000s with missing keys, but it took me weeks to notice that one of my BL1000s (got it with a BM4500) had two RESET keys! V.TAPE key was lost so the original owner had repaired it with "just some key" from another BL. I noted nothing wrong at first...

Happy new year to everybody! Let's keep the forum busy and the classic B&O's alive! (Below: a Beolink 7000 showing the current date and time)
do remember how so very fragile the display connection to the other PCB was.
I know this has been up before; is there any chance of fixing a broken display/connection cable? People here seem to be able fix almost everything, why couldn't somebody come up with something on this case?

When I connected an active Genelec subwoofer to my (at-work) Beomaster 4500, I soon learned to switch the sub on AFTER switching on the Beomaster! It made "quite a" boom at startup

I have never had an Avant but this might help. Somewhere in the Avant's menus there is a part called Connections where you can assign different inputs to different functions (or buttons in your Beo4). In your case you should set the AV input to V.TAPE.

(Perhaps we could keep this thread simply as list of projects going rather than component-level discussion?) Eugene: your BC3300 looks much like my BC2000. I had troubles with the motor, too. There was some bigger resistor near the back grill (on the bottom PCB) that caused troubles, but I think it caused over-speed so it might not be the case in your

Today I visited a relative of mine to whom I got the kit. He said that it was easy to install. For some reason one of the straps looked like being a bit too wide to fit the groove perfectly, compared to the original strap it was about 2-3mm wider. The other three seemed to fit better. The speakers looked much nicer with new straps in place, most of

Out of interest: what sort of light strips those were and how much did they cost? Was it visually better than before the replacement? Edit: Oops, very old thread
