ajames: I might be wrong, but I think the 9000 being the first in that range wasn't equipped with Powerlink Sockets so the beolab range wouldn;t work easily. Best bet if that's the case may well be Beovox Penta. You're right! But one could use speaker link instead.

I agree, that you can use a Panasonic panel with BS3, and the only thing missing would be the anti reflex coating, automatic colour management and the alu frame. I do not think B&O products today are more or less future prove than they have been in the past. The Ouverture cannot be upgraded to handle N.MUSIC, the first Avants (where VHS was the only option) couldn't be retrofitted with a DVD, and neither could the AV5 - eventhough it had an optical drive.
