I think your best plan is to put all your gear in room with a dehumidifer and leave it there for a few days. If thats not an option lots of silica gel in sealed plastic bags left in a warm room. Hi Kokomo, just a guess but perhaps the battery in your 6000 lost its power while the mains power was down ? Surge protectors are better than nothing, but I see a lot of appliances in continental europe using two pin plugs with no ground/earth and this can not help in power surges/lightening situations.
