Inside your CD3300 and BeoCenter 9000 is the same Servo PCB and the same capacitor. For both it is also wise to also resolder the decoder PCB, most of the time there are a lot of bad solderings which occur during the years, especially in the powersupply on the board, the large IC's and the groundwires which are also soldered on the componentside

BeoMaster 5500 could have bad solderings on the input PCB which could cause the problem. Also have a good look at the contacts of the speakersockets, sometimes they get bend and will not make contact with the speakerplug which results in no sound from your speakers.

I would use an MCL2A kit. This is the original linksystem for your BeoCenter 9000. To use a BeoLink Passive on your BeoCenter 9000 you first need a BeoLink Converter to be able to connect ML to your BeoCenter and I am not sure if this will work 100%. An MCL2A can be connected directly to your BeoCenter and is the easiest and cheapest solution.

Connect the powerlinksocket of your Ouverture to the powerlinksocket of your ML/MCL converter. Switch on the Ouverture and see if the converter also switches on.
