  • Re: New Flat - masterlink + lights + blinds

Sorry if this question sounds silly csmager, but could you explain why you think Cat5 would give me some future proofing? Would I be right in assuming you think that that will probably be the standard B&O adopt for their new Beolink system?

OK, many thanks for your suggestions Ralf. Its looking like I may have to just network things the traditional way....ML and RF! I just hope B&O don't bring out an all singing all dancing ML2 in the next few months! Speaking of which, anyone heard any rumours?

Ralf, by ditributing the data signal rather than a video signal doesn't that mean that I need a decoder in each room (eg cable tv box in each room)? As far as I know (and please correct me if I'm wrong), B&O users either use RF to distribute video (reasonable quality picture, especially over short runs) or HDMI cables run from source to

Hi all, Thanks for the suggestions so far...please keep them coming! Ralf, I have to say I don't quite understand your suggestion! Are you saying use ethernet + some sort of adaptor instead of masterlink? As for the video part, my point is that I want to be able to view my living room sources in all linked rooms. As far as I know you currently do

  • New Flat - masterlink + lights + blinds

Hi All Looks like I'll be moving into a new flat soon so here's the oppertunity I've been looking for to get things automated. My intention is to : - have all rooms masterlinked (and all bedrooms + kitchen RF linked too for TV) - Remote controlled lighting including table lamps (I have a Beo5 but would prefer compatibility with Beo4 too

  • Re: Beo5 - DVD1 Off Button?

Hi Keith, The DVD1 does eventually switch to standby after 5-10 minutes. I have my Avant service menu up its a type: 8433 Not sure which software version to tell you as there are a few!

  • Re: Why did the LC2 die?

Good point Chris! Do we know of any remote controllable dimmers that can be used with the energy saving bulbs (not the low voltage spot light types)? Also, would any of you Rania owners mind giving me an idea of what they cost you?

  • Re: Why did the LC2 die?

Great advice as always guys. It seems like the Rania's are best, however there are B&O and non-B&O models available. I have a Beo5 so can use the non-B&O ones but would obviously prefer the B&O compatible ones to give me control with my Beo4's. My question is therefore what are the best prices you guys have seen for these? I'm

  • Re: Beo5 - DVD1 Off Button?

Hi Stefan, Well unfortunately stopping the DVD1 before switching sources doesn't work either! All that happens is instead of the sound of the DVD coming through, now no sound comes through! Please note that when I do press stop stop on the DVD1 it does not switch the device off as the display shows some '----' in red. Something I didn't

  • Beo5 - DVD1 Off Button?

Hi All, I've been having some trouble with my DVD1 (connected to an Avant via SCART and digital Co-ax). Whenever I switch from DVD to another source the sound of the DVD continues to play yet the picture does change. After some tests it seems like this is down to the digital coax as if I remove it and run both sound and picture through the SCART
