Ok. So BM5 is working. Can you hear music? Is it possible to navigate with Beo4? Would you tell a bit more about your setup? Have you connected a Beovision?.... Stefan
-
Did you try a reset of the BM5? There is a little switch on the back of the BM5... On the back you will also find a red light that changes to green when BM5 is powered up. Stefan

Hi and welcome to Beoworld. "My questions are, like on other TVs, is there a button that can toggle through the different inputs on the TV?" No, not necessary. If you have assigned your sources for example V.AUX for Wii, DVD for the Playstation and CAMCORDER for the stb you just press DVD or V.AUX and the Avant will be powered up, turns to

Stefan

"My goal is to control the Humax direct with the full use of the Beo5 keys and not everything from the display." What do you mean by "...not everything from the display." ?? If you are talking about the little PUC menu on the left side of your BV, this one is for the PUC control and not every button working with your stb is listed
-
You will need the IR cable, because your Beo5 controls the Beovision and the BV controls your stb. Otherwise you need a template for third party products to control the Humax directly. Stefan

Try the button with the red dot - it`s a standby button. Welcome to Beoworld. Stefan
-
Yes the red glow must be the standby light. I remember that I changed the network settings from DHCP to a fixed IP address. My BM5 is connected to an airport station via ethernet cable. I just checked once more: First time I press Connect, my BM5 starts up (green light), Beoconnect displays "....check IP address....", second time same result
-
Correct. And this way you are able to control your stb from linkrooms and with Beo4. Stefan

Sorry, I was talking about a BV7-40. My mistake. You have a BV8, so maybe try service menu: MENU - 0 - 0 - GO.....(?) My BV7-40 has a submenu called Adjustments and there i can find Cinema Timings - Extra Blanking.... Stefan
