  • Re: BM 8000 CPU: cut traces?

Check the opto readers on the tuning wheel and the related connectors and their solder joints on the processor board. Martin

  • Re: Beocenter 9000 has stoped reading CDs. Please help.

Welcome to Beoworld ! Not all types of capacitors will work on the servo board and that 33uF cap is particularly sensitive. Other types may work with higher or lower success rate but I've found that using a blue Philips type (as the original) works everytime. It's very tempting to adjust the laser current etc. but don't adjust anything on

  • Re: beomaster 4000 fuses

Yes to the first and no to the second. Yes, you need the correct fuses and no, nothing else will be recommended. You should be able to find some at almost any electronic parts store (or Ebay), I may also be able to supply them if everything else fails. Try locally first, that will save you the postage. I would also recommend a quick check inside with

  • Re: Beogram CD 5500 loading mechanism

Check that the loading bracket that goes across the deck grabs both of its tabs down the sides of the deck. Strong light (a flashlight) will be a great help. Martin

  • Re: beomaster 4000 fuses

Welcome to Beoworld ! Did you change the mains voltage setting (the rotary switch)? And if so, did you do it while the Beomaster was switched on ? The fuses are of the standard 5x20mm glasstube type. Available from almost anywhere. Martin

  • Re: BM 8000 CPU: cut traces?

(IC6 is only a 16 pin chip so I take it that must be a typo, IC4 makes more sense). According to the schematics, IC4 p21 should connect to IC8 p13 to give a pre-scaled signal to the frequency readout. But that refers only to the unmodified (early) circuit. Most BM8000's have an extra little piggyback board with a 4013 IC on the processor board,

  • Re: Beomaster 6000 Type 2253

Well done so far ! When you replaced C1, did you mount a capacitor of similar type or did you introduce the connection that went away with the old capacitor (the grounding has three points around the positive pin and two of them are used). Check for cracked solder joints at the bottom edge of the processor board (when open in service mode), that's

  • Re: Compatibility of Terminal 3000

Thanks Søren, but that one is a Beocenter Terminal for the Beocenter 7007/7700. It will NOT work with the Beomaster 5000. Martin

  • Re: Compatibility of Terminal 3000

You can't. The Beomaster 5000 uses unique coding that only the Terminal 5000 and MCP5000 will provide. Martin
