After hitting the speakers with the 60 grit, I hit them with some 220 grit by hand. Bummer that in order to get the scratches completely out, I ended up sanding off all the veneer at the corners. The crossover mounts are different. One speaker has the wood strip attached by a groove in the side, and the other is attached to a block that is in turn attached to the side.
