One more; with a little understanding of german: http://www.stereoplay.de/testbericht/lautsprecher-bang-olufsen-beolab-9-319655.html
Same as in the first article... is it really impossible to attach the connector legend sticker properly at the factory?

  • Re: Help : Mold!

I would keep heat and all solvents well away from the drivers. Unlike some fungi, mold can't feed itself and will stop growing the moment the conditions are unsuitable for it. I don't think the mold in the cones will damage the speakers in any way, but the mold-allowing conditions themselves might. Once they seem to be reasonably dry, you can

  • Re: Beolab 4000 repair

That was entertaining, Jaff! Søren, do you mean the primary winding is bad (shorted, or...)? That should be enough to blow the fuse without any other problems present. If the speaker had a bad short somewere else on the low voltage side, I believe it would've burned the rectifier or something. If you want to be sure, you could of course swap

Quite likely. Don't try that, the idea has no chance of working.
I have seen that strip somewhere, but forgot where.
Somewhere on this forum recently, and of course possibly in a newspaper... It's by Wulffmorgenthaler, and they are Danish, so they probably know what they are implying here - I'm not so sure myself either http://www.wulffmorgenthaler.com/

  • Re: Boelink 7000 remote / charging dock

Yeah, you should have about 9 volts between some charger pins, can't remember which (two of them are connected internally by a resistor). There is a 100 mA canned style plug in fuse (looks like a brown electrolytic cap) in the charger and it might be blown. Since you're at 110V, the fuse might actually have a different rating - replace with

  • Re: Beogram 7000 tone arm assembly not moving

Unless somebody else has better ideas, I think I would just try a small blob of hot glue over the rod & clip, as the joint doesn't need to handle any particular forces while the deck is in operation. Easy to remove later if needed. Be careful not to use so much that the glue will interfere with any moving parts.
Lots of light coming out of the System 7000
I once noted in some other thread that a Beolink 7000 contains 596 pcs of red LEDs but nobody was interested! And I spent at least a minute counting them!

  • Re: Cleaning BS5
NOTE: Don't spray into control buttons. Only spray on screen!
As a general device cleaning advice, not related to BS5... don't spray directly onto anything! Spray into a clean cloth and wipe with that. That's the only way to keep whatever you are spraying from getting into places it doesn't belong
