Rich, you should open the deck again, and clean of all old grease and hardened oil, lubricate everything with a silicone oil/grease, it does wonder. For Strobo disc I use this one Which cartridge did you order ?

Had the same problem with my setup, it turned out to be powerlink cables crossing over or running close to power sources, separating power and speaker cables solved the problem, worst "hum" provider was a No-breake.
