My advice, keep away from the DVD1 because if it needs repair it will cost more than it's worth.. I say this in this situation because you cannot test it. Make an offer on the TV alone, you'll love the Avant. It's a great TV!! btw, if you're looking at an MX look at either an MX7000 or MX8000 as these have active speakers and much better
